Artist's Comments

My next illustration is out! I got the idea from the way a comic book or manga looks like. So I decided to make this more a panel and practice some typography for my illustrations so I can better that in the future.

Just to let you know that this isn't anime related even though it may look kinda like one. I wanted to try something different with a suburban feel and have crisper lines than my usual organic style.

The logo at the top-right of the image is something that I made up. It's something I'm working on for one of my print production classes for a soft-drink.

I hope you enjoy this! Please offer any critique.

GTA IV? Really? Awesome! My room mate got that game for his PS3 and it's really nice. Just curious, how do you see GTA IV?

The style and colors of it reminds me of the beggining images of the game when it first loads up. It really does.

Ok. You asked for it! :giggle: I go from top to bottom.

I like the rays and the color of the sky. I think that the grey border looks good with those colors but kind of overpowers them (the gold and green hues) and might work better if it was thinner because right now it's so dark it throws off the nice soft and simple colors of the piece. I'd also move the white over. I don't like how it straddles the picture and the grey. It's also a little big for my personal tastes but I can see how it'd be a nice balance for the thickness of the grey parts. I really like the bridge and the angle it's at against the curve of underneath the bridge. :3 It's a nice shape contrast.

I like the texture you created with the little black parts. Not overdone, just right. I like that you balanced the left figure with the right and how he's standing and she's sitting. If thats their genders. I dunno. :giggle: I like how you reintroduce the green from the sky into the green under the bridge. I think her shadow looks pretty good but I'm not sure I understand the lighting. The grass parts have a different angle their shadows fall on. The left one goes straight, the middle to the left, and the right to the middle right. Her shadow goes to the right side. They are all proportionate in their lengths though.

What's the shadow in the middle? Why doesn't the bridge have a small shadow? I kind of see how it might be in there but it's not obvious to me.

I think in the water you should have the sky reflected. :3 But that's just an extra flair and I like it simple too.

You know I'd like to see it without the grey. I think that's what throws me off the most. I understand why you added it and as padding but I see this image as simple in it's composition, it doesn't need the balancing or padding in my eyes. But that's just my personal taste. :)

Still. My original comment stands with prettyyyyyyy <333
